SpongeBob SquarePants (Tom Kenny), Patrick Star (Bill Fagerbakke) and Eugene H. Krabs (Clancy Brown) and Squidward Tentacles (Rodger Bumpass) are in for the adventure of a lifetime in the new SpongeBob live action movie called The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water.

It all starts when an evil pirate Burger-Beard (Antonio Banderas) gets his hands on a magic book which can make whatever is written in it come true. Burger Beard needs the last page of the book to make his spell work so sets out to find it.

Under the sea in Bikini Bottom Spongebob and his pals are celebrating at the Krusty Krab when the owner of the Chum Bucket, Sheldon J. Plankton (Mr. Lawrence), to steal the top secret recipe for Krabby Patties. SpongeBob and Plankton fight over the recipe which suddenly disappears. Yes, you guessed it, the pirate has it.

The loss of the secret recipe is a disaster for Bikini Bottom and all the residents are distraught. So SpongeBob and his friends set out to retrieve the recipe. This will mean going onto dry land, which is a problem as they are all sea dwellers. But there is always a way in a world in which magic exists, and soon they all have superpowers and can exist on land. It's literally a fish out of water adventure comedy that looks like lots of silly fun.

The live action portions of the film were directed by Mike Mitchell. The movie was filmed in Georgia and on Tybee Island. The film debuts on February 6, 2015. Here's the trailer:
