Sony Wants More Paul Blart The surprising success of Paul Blart: Mall Cop has Sony hoping for a sequel to capture yet more Mall Cop box office magic. An L.A. Times article says Happy Madison Productions - a film company founded by Adam Sandler - rarely does sequels but they might make an exception for Paul Blart.
Belgrad and his Sony production chief partner, Matt Tolmach, have a number of modestly budgeted comedies in the works, including Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler in "The Ugly Truth"; "Bad Teacher"; the demolition derby story "The Precious View"; and "Winter's Discontent."Paul Blart won its opening weekand and second weekand at the Box Office. The film has already brought in nearly $70 million according to Box Office Mojo.
