Anna Friel to Join Bradley Cooper in Dark Fields Thriller

Hollywood Reporter says Anna Friel may be joining Bradley Cooper for the film, The Dark Fields. The film is based on the novel by Alan Glynn.

The story centers on a down-and-out writer (Cooper) who gets his hands on a top-secret pharmaceutical drug that makes one smarter. He experiences sudden financial and social success but soon discovers that the drug has lethal and lasting side effects, including "trip-switching," a phenomenon in which time moves with a stop-motion quality. Before long, mysterious antagonists are pursuing him.

Friel will play Cooper's ex-wife, a woman who was a go-getter before their breakup.

The plot sounds interesting. It is good to see Bradley Cooper (Alias) getting back into the thriller genre again. If the The A-Team is a hit in 2010 it could give Dark Fields a boost in 2011. Anna Friel also needs a hit to make people forget about Land of the Lost.
