Volcanic Ash Cancels Iron Man 2 London Premiere

The volcanic ash from Iceland's Eyjafjallajokull volcano is starting to impact movie premieres. Digital Spy reports that Paramount has canceled the UK World premiere of Iron Man 2, because of the ash clouds which can damage airplane engines.

Paramount has chosen to move the superhero film's red carpet event to Los Angeles after drifting ash clouds from Iceland's Eyjafjallajökull volcano grounded air traffic in and out of the UK.

The UK premiere was due to take place on April 26 at Vue Westfield in London. It would have been the first premiere to take place at the Shepherd's Bush venue.

There are likely to be many other similar events canceled if the volcanic ash cloud continues to disrupt air travel across Europe.
