Russell Brand, Hellen Mirren in Arthur Remake

Jason Winer, who directed the pilot of ABC's "Modern Family," will helm "Arthur," produced by Larry Brezner, Chris Bender and Kevin McCormick. Brand, Scott Kroopf, J.C. Spink and Nick Linnen are exec producing.

In the original, Dudley Moore's Arthur turned to Gilgud's Hobson for advice after his family threatened to cut off his inheritance if he did not marry a woman he didn't love. Gielgud won the supporting actor Oscar for his work.
