Rookie Blue Gets Second Season Pickup

Variety reports that ABC has greenlit a second season of Rookie Blue. The show is about five rookie cops who are freshfrom the Academy.

"Rookie Blue" now ranks second in its Thursday time slot, behind "So You Think You Can Dance," among adults 18-49 and 18-34.

"We're very pleased that the show has connected with viewers, especially considering the challenge of finding an audience in the summer," said Quinn Taylor, ABC Entertainment Group's senior VP of movies, minis and acquisitions.

The pickup is good news for actress Missy Peregrym (Reaper, Stick It), who plays one of the Rookie cops.
