Bradley Cooper is a Brilliant Chef in First Burnt Trailer

Posted on August 14, 2015

The Weinstein Company just released the first teaser trailer for Burnt which stars Bradley Cooper as a rock star young chef named Adam Jones whose career flamed out when he got addicted to drugs and alcohol. He now wants to put his life back together and go for that third Michelin star at a new restaurant in London.

This isn't the first time Bradley has played a chef. He was a bad boy chef in the short lived Fox series Kitchen Confidential which was based on Chef Anthony Bourdain's infamous tell all book about the behind the scenes insanity at a top restaurant. It was a great series that we loved.

This film has a different subplot. Whatever Chef Jones did in Paris ticked off the wrong people and they are willing to hire a hitman to take him out if he dares to open another restaurant. That's quite a twist -- perhaps he ticked off a drug kingpin somehow?

In any event, the excitement in the trailer is due to Cooper's amazing intensity as a performer. The behind the scenes look at a top restaurant is fascinating and the cinematography is excellent. Cooper is passionate in the role. He explains his vision this way, "I don't want my restaurant to be a place where you come and eat. I want people to sit at that table and be sick with longing."

The film was directed by John Wells. It co-stars Sienna Miller, Uma Thurman, Daniel Bruhl, Emma Thompson, Lily James, Matthew Rhys, Omar Sy, Jamie Dornan and Alicia Vikander. It hits theaters on October 23rd, and it's a must see for us. Take a look:
