The Chronicles of Riddick

Pitch Black, the low-budget prequel to this film, made quite a bit of money and made Vin Diesel a star. Director David Twohy was handed a gigantic budget and told to continue the story of the enigmatic Riddick. Chronicles of Riddick looks absolutely fantastic. Colm Feore, Judi Densch and Thandie Newton deliver their lines with pananche, and Vin Diesel slays lots of bad guys in his own, charming way. But the script is a disaster and much too complicated.
