The BuzzDirector John Lee Hancock actually managed to make a movie about the Alamo that is boring. This was originally supposed to be a Ron Howard, R-rated film starring Russell Crowe. The studio didn't want the "R," Howard and Crowe passed and we get this lame version. Billy Bob Thornton does a fine job as Davy Crockett, but the best scenes happen after the Alamo falls making for a real anti-climax. It feels authentic. Too bad it couldn't be interesting at the same time.
