First Full Trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1

Here is the first full trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks and Woody Harrelson. Lionsgate has been teasing fans with two public service announcements from the Capitol, which illustrate the lengths the government will go to keep the various poor districts repressed, poor and ignorant.

But revolution is brewing and Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) is the reluctant face of the revolution. Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) has been kidnapped, brainwashed by President Snow (Donald Sutherland) and is being used by the Capitol for disinformation.

Katniss is furious when she finds out Peeta is alive and doing PR for President Snow. She threatens President Alma Coin (Julianne Moore) and revolution leader Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman) with the loss of her as a symbol of the revolution if they don't put Peeta's safety first. Katniss warns them, "You will rescue Peeta at the earliest opportunity, or you will find another Mockingjay>." Katniss never wanted to be in the Hunger Games or to lead a revolution. All she wanted to do was save her sister.

The trailer gives us a look at Gayle (Liam Hemsworth) turning into a soldier and standing next to Katniss as they shoot down fighter jets using their archery skills. The trailer is excellent, with plenty of action and drama. Stanley Tucci, Jeffrey Wright, Natalie Dormer, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone and Willow Shields co-star in the film.

Francis Lawrence directed the film which is based on the first half of the last book in the Hunger Games trilogy. Here is the trailer:
