But according to Variety, things are finally shaping up nicely with Angelina Jolie starring as the Interpol agent who must track down a former lover and Johnny Depp starring as an American who gets caught up in the intrigue. Johnny is still in talks, but his surprise involvement has thrown some real buzz behind the project. The move comes after Avatar star Sam Worthington exited along with director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, both over creative differences. Already, directors are circling the plum gig, including Alfonso Cuaron.Johnny was supposed to make Pirates of the Caribbean 4 for Disney, but it looks like that may not be happening after all. Johnny was very unhappy when studio chief Dick Cook was forced out and since then his enthusiasm for another pirate move has waned, according to The L.A. Times.
