However, Tyler Perry also gets heavily criticized for some of his characters like Madea. Tyler says the criticism pisses him off. He says his characters are bait for genuine messages. Tyler Perry says his characters are "Disarming, charming, make-you-laugh bait so I can slap Madea in something and talk about God, love, faith, forgiveness and family."
