The Croods won the box office this weekend with a large $44.7 million take. Olympus Has Fallen, starring Gerard Butler, also had an impressive opening. It made $30.5 million in 3,09 theaters. The R-rated film has an A- CinemaScore.

Oz the Great and Powerful added $22 million during its third week in theaters to bring its gross to $178 million. It will easily pass the $200 million mark but will probably run out of steam before $300 million domestic. Oz was followed by The Call, which finished fourth and made $8.7 million during its second week in theaters.

Admission, a comedy starring Tina Fey and Paul Rudd, had a surprisingly weak opening. It made just $6.5 million in 2,160 theaters. There was also a comedy that performed weaker than expected last weekend - Burt Wonderstone. The dark spring break movie, Spring Breakers, made $5 million as it began to spread to more theaters.

Spring Breakers was followed by The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, Jack the Giant Slayer, Identity Thief and Snith. You can see the complete box office report for the weekend here.
