Trailer for Exodus: Gods and Kings Starring Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton

Posted on July 9, 2014

Christian Bale takes on the role of Moses in the trailer for the highly anticipated Ridley Scott film Exodus: Gods and Kings. The film tells the story of Moses and how he led the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt which was ruled by Moses' brother, the Pharoah Ramses, played by Joel Edgerton (Warrior, The Great Gatsby).

The cast is stellar: Sigourney Weaver, Ben Kingsley, John Turturro, Aaron Paul and Indira Varma also star. Don't expect Bale to don a giant fake beard and white robe, as Charlton Heston did to play Moses in The Ten Commandments. Bale said he wouldn't do the film if there were any fake beards involved. This Moses wears leather and armor and his beard is tastefully trimmed.

The trailer looks action packed and Bale looks like he's going to do a fantastic job as a new kind of Moses. The screenplay was written by Steven Zaillian, who wrote Schindler's List American Gangster, Moneyball and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Ridley Scott is directing the film which is expected to hit theaters in time for Christmas. Take a look:
