Benedict Cumberbatch Feels the Magic in Dr. Strange Teaser Trailer

Marvel has released the first teaser trailer for Doctor Strange and it is fantastic.Benedict Cumberbatch plays Doctor Stephen Vincent Strange, a brilliant and egotistical neurosurgeon. When he loses the ability to do surgery after a terrible car accident shatters his hands, the doctor searches the world for a way to regain his former skills.

He eventually meets the Ancient One (a suitably otherworldly Tilda Swinton) who eventually agrees to train him to defend Earth against interdimensional foes. The Ancient One shows the good doctor that there is much more to our world that meets the eye and that there are many ways to save lives. Eventually in the comics, Strange goes on to become the Sorcerer Supreme.

In the trailer the Ancient One knocks Strange right out of his physical body, just to give him a little taste of astral projection. The visuals are great and Cumberbatch looks perfectly cast. Cumberbatch has been told to do an American accent. He nails it, of course, but we do miss his British accent. We love the fact that Marvel is embracing the magical side of the comics and can't wait to see Dr. Strange in action.

The film was directed by Scott Derrickson (Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose). Also starring in the film are Rachel McAdams in an undisclosed role, Mads Mikkelsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, Benedict Wong as Wong, Amy Landecker and Scott Adkins. The film will be released on November 4, 2016. Take a look:
