Oprah Adopts a New Puppy

Posted on March 3, 2009

Oprah Winfrey has adopted a new cocker spaniel puppy from a shelter. Oprah was devastated when her dog Sophie died at the age of 13. Oprah and Stedman visited PAWS (Pets Are Worth Saving) animal shelter in Chicago and picked out a female cocker spaniel puppy to take home.
Oprah's beloved 13-year-old cocker spaniel, Sophie, died of kidney failure last March. Oprah also has another cocker spaniel: a male called Solomon -- in addition to a pair of golden retrievers.

Oprah's golden retriever, Gracie, died in 2007 when she choked to death on a plastic ball belonging to Sophie.
Oprah is the sponsor of a special room at PAWS that features dogs needing homes. This is one lucky puppy. We wonder what Oprah will name her? And does Stedman get a say in the name?
