Colin Farrell Interrogates Newt Scamander in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Trailer

A new trailer for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them debuted during the MTV Movie Awards and it showed us a bit more of the world of the Harry Potter prequel. The movie is set in New York City in the 1920s. Newt Scamander, played by Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne, arrives in New York with a battered suitcase that has little claws peeking out of the top. When faced with a customs officer, he quickly changes the lock to Muggle mode so when the officer opens the suitcase, it looks perfectly ordinary. It's not, of course.

Just like the Tardis, it is much bigger on the inside than on the outside. The trailer's voiceover is provided by Colin Farrell who plays the American Auror Percival Graves. He is the right hand man to Seraphina Picquery (Carmen Ejogo), the head of the U.S. magical congress. Graves tells Newt, "You're an interesting man, Mr. Scamander. Just like your suitcase, there is clearly much more to you than meets the eye." Well, it's no good getting anything past a trained Auror.

Graves apparently is reviewing Newt's resume. He notes that he was kicked out of Hogwarts for endangering human life with a beast. He notes that one of his professors, a younger Albus Dumbledore, argued forcefully against his expulsion, but was unable to convince the top brass that Newt was a problem.

Newt looks like he is going to have some amazing adventures in New York City. We simply cannot wait until it comes out in November. Take a look:
