First Trailer for Gone Girl Starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike

Fox has released the first full trailer for the highly anticipated film adaptation of Gillian Flynn's bestselling novel, Gone Girl. The film stars Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Kim Dickens, Patrick Fugit and Carrie Coon and is directed by David Fincher.

Flynn adapted her own book into the screenplay. Fans of the book may be in for a big surprise. Flynn has said that she completely rewrote the third act of the story, so the book's controversial ending that some people really hated will most likely be changed. Although Flynn has also said that the press reports have been exaggerated. It's impossible to explain more without giving away major plot points, so we'll just leave it there.

The new trailer is really good: we see a great deal more of the characters and the story. Ben Affleck is fantastic Nick, the husband of Amy (Rosamund Pike) who is suspected of killing his wife when she disappears leaving behind a diary that implicates him. In this psychological thriller, nothing is quite as it seems.

Reese Witherspoon is producing the film which is set to be released on October 3, 2014. Take a look:
