Kicks Trailer Features Jahking Guillory On a Mission to Retrieve His Air Jordans

Athletic shoes, sneakers, tennis shoes, chucks, kicks: they mean different things to different people. To 15 year old Brandon finally getting his hands on a pair of red Air Jordans was his ticket to coolness and acceptance. But when a local gang stole his new shoes, his world fell apart. Determined to get back his kicks, Brandon and his two best friends go on a very ill-advised, very dangerous mission in Oakland to retrieve the kicks of his dreams.

Justin Tippin directed and co-wrote the indie film that has really great buzz. The urban coming of age film has a star in the making with Jahking Guillory who plays Brandon with an intensity that carries the story. Brandon wants to escape his life of poverty and sometimes wishes he was an astronaut in space just for the quiet. But barring that, those Air Jordans will do to take him out of the life he wants to escape. Christopher Jordan Wallace plays Albert and Christopher Meyer plays Rico, his two best friends.

The film is distributed by Focus Features and will be released on September 9, 2016. Take a look:
