Beautiful cinematography, stunning battle scenes and an epic storyline make for a very good film. Ken Watanabe, as a samurai fighting agaist the influence of the West, picks up an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor, but Tom Cruise was overlooked by the Academy.
