Posted on April 13, 2014

Captain America: The Winter Soldier won the box office again this weekend. It was followed very closely by Rio 2. The Winter Soldier made $41.4 million during its second weekend in theaters to bring its domestic gross to $159 million. Rio 2 opened with a strong $39 million during its first weekend in theaters.

The Oculus horror film opened with $12 million to finish third. Deadline reports that Oculus had a C CinemaScore. Oculus was followed Draft Day, starring Kevin Costner. Draft Day made $9.8 million in 2,781 theaters for a weak $3,506 per theater average. Draft Day has some good reviews and was 63% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. Audiences also reacted favorably, however there are only so many people who are going to want to watch a movie focused around an NFL draft.

Draft Day was followed by Divergent, Noah, God's Not Dead and The Grand Budapest Hotel. You can view the complete box office report here.
