George Lucas Says He Has 50 Scripts Ready for Live Action Star Wars TV Show

Posted on May 31, 2011

George Lucas and Disney Imagineering's Tom Fitzgerald chatted with G4's Attack of the Show and it turned out to be a very interesting interview. George talks about the 3D conversion of the Star Wars prequel, and discusses the finer points of 3D filmmaking.

But what really got us excited was when he dropped the bomb that he has 50 live action tv Star Wars scripts ready to go. The scripts are written with the same level of cgi as the feature films -- he says they will look just like the films. The problem is the cost. He says they have to make them for one tenth of what they would normally cost. George says what they are doing is going to revolutionize filmmaking budgets in the future. He seems quite determined. Tom seemed like he agreed with everything George said, although he didn't really get to talk.

50 hours of scripts is enough for over two seasons of a live-action Star Wars show. We would love to see it!
