Jennifer Lawrence Lands Katniss Everdeen Role

Jennifer Lawrence has landed the role of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games. There were numerous young actresses competing for the hot role. Jennifer Lawrence has support from The Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins. Collins said, "Jennifer's just an incredible actress. So powerful, vulnerable, beautiful, unforgiving and brave. I never thought we'd find somebody this perfect for the role. And I can't wait for everyone to see her play it."

'Hunger Games' director Gary Ross told EW casting Jennifer at Katniss was an easy casting decision. He was very impressed by her performance in Winter's Bone.
