Leanne Marshall Wins Project Runway Season Five

Leanne Marshall won Season 5 of Project Runway and we screamed out loud last night when Heidi announced the winner. They were trying to fake us out to make us think that Korto won by not showing the judge's criticisms of her work, but leaving in Michale Kors' comment that Leanne has to be careful not to be known as "Petals McQueen" -- the girl who does petals in every collection.

Leanne's work was just a cut above the other two finalists. Her collection was sophisticated, elegant and had that expensive, unusual couture look. Plus, she showed a gown, a wedding dress, pants, skirts and some really cute shorts. The detailing was just fabulous -- as were the petal skirts and jackets.

Kenley got called down again for copying another designer -- this time it was Balenciaga. Korto's collection was well-made and she came in second. Her pleating was truly lovely: we loved her bright green, asymmetrical halter dress. She did better with the brighter colors: we're glad she listened to Tim and ditched that horrible wedding dress from last week. That was not her best work.

So another season is over. But with all the legal wrangling going on it's far from clear when the next season will air.
