Martin Freeman and Stephen Colbert Discuss The Hobbit
Posted on December 6, 2012
Martin Freeman, who plays Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit, was a guest on The Colbert Report which had an entire Hobbit themed week. It's no secret that Stephen Colbert is an absolute Tolkien fanatic. Peter Jackson invited him to the set during filming and he surprised everyone by speaking Elvish. He also got into a Tolkien trivia contest with screenwriter Philippa Boyens (The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings)-- and won. Stephen said he felt like an athlete that had been training his whole life for a race he never knew would happen. Martin, who plays Dr. Watson on the BBC's Sherlock and played Arthur Dent in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, talks about playing Bilbo and getting his own Lego action figure. Take a look:
