Gwyneth Paltrow to Guest Star on Glee

Posted on September 20, 2010

You know how every time you pick up a magazine there's another well-known movie or TV actress saying how much they'd just love to guest star on Glee, but none of them ever get asked to be on the show? Well, there is one A-list actress who hasn't said a word about Glee to the press, but who is now negotiating to do a two episode guest starring role: Gwyneth Paltrow.

Kristin dos Santos reports for E Online that Gwyneth is good friends with Ryan Murphy and he wrote a role especially for her. He will personally direct the first of her two episodes.

She's going to sing. And dance. And many of you fans are going to completely freak out when you hear who she might be playing:

Gwyneth will be a love interest of sorts for Matthew Morrison's character, Will Schuester.

According to rock-solid Glee sources, Gwyneth would play a substitute teacher in two episodes airing in November. Mr. Schuester gets sick, so Gwyneth's character steps in and takes over the glee club. The kids love her, and Will starts to fall for her...complicating his relationship with Emma (Jayma Mays).

Given the fact that we think Will and Emma have zero chemistry, we are all for Mr. Schuester getting a new love interest -- even if it's just for a couple of episodes. Gwyneth has a new movie coming out in which she sings called Country Strong and she sounds great. We can't wait to see her on Glee.

Update: Gwyneth is great. Here she is performing a version of "Forget You" by CeeLo Green.
