Peter Dinklage and Adam Sandler Fight Pac-Man in First Pixels Trailer

The first trailer for Pixels shows us what was bound to happen at some point. An alien civilization received feeds from Earth of classic 1980s videogames and interpreted them as a declaration of war. Believing the games to be the correct format for waging war on Earth, they turned Pac-Man and Donkey Kong into terrifying, deadly weapons that disintegrate matter on contact and sent them to annihilate our planet.

President Will Cooper (Kevin James) calls his old friend Sam Brenner (Adam Sandler) to help out in this national crisis. Brenner is a home theater installer now, but he is the '80s video game champion. Now Brenner and his other arcade game champions (Peter Dinklage and Josh Gad) must go to war to save Earth.

In the first trailer for the Chris Columbus directed film we get a look at a giant Pacman eating cities and generally being really, really bad. The film is based on a short film by Patrick Jean. It was adapted into a feature film by Tim Herlihy and Timothy Dowling. Michelle Monaghan, Brian Cox, Ashley Benson and Jane Krakowski co-star in the comedy which hits theaters this summer in 3-D.

The CGI looks amazing and the trailer is funny and horrifying at the same time. Best scene: the creator of Pac-Man tells everyone that his creation is his son and is not evil. Then he meets him in person. Take a look:
