Trailer for Return of the Jedi if it Were Directed by David Lynch

Dangerous Minds shares the frightening tidbit that director David Lynch (Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks) was asked by George Lucas to direct Return of the Jedi. Luckily for Star Wars fans Lynch turned Lucas down after thinking about it for 24 hours and told Lucas that he was the one that should direct the movie. Lynch ended up directing Dune in 1984.
C-Spit decided to splice together a trailer so fans could see what a Lynch directed Return of the Jedi film would have looked like and it's really hilarious. It's just crazy weird, with lots of Twin Peaks references (hello, BOB), Yoda speaking backwards and Ewoks that look super creepy. It's all very "who killed Laura Palmer?" Thank heavens he said now.
