Warcraft Trailer Debuts With Plenty of Action

Posted on November 6, 2015

Universal has released the first trailer for Warcraft which is based on the popular videogame series. Travis Fimmel (Vikings) stars as Sir Anduin Lothar, the Lion of Azeroth, a knight and great human warrior. Ben Foster stars as Medivh, the Guardian of Tirisfal. Dominic Cooper is King Llane I of the House of Wrynn, the ruler of the Kingdom of Azeroth. Toby Kebbell is Durotan, the great Orc warrior

The film is based on the real time strategy games that actually precede World of Warcraft, and it's unclear exactly what part of the game will be replicated in the feature film. But from the trailer it looks like the humans and the Orcs meet for the first time and it does not go well.

The orcs' homeworld is being destroyed and they need a new home. The humans of Azeroth are not interested in being invaded by orcs from another world. But there are other forces at work here. The two races must learn to work together or risk destruction. The film also stars Paula Patton as Garona, Clancy Brown as Blackhand and Ruth Negga as Lady Taria. Ryan Robbins, Daniel Wu, Robert Kazinsky, and Andrew Tricoteaux also star.

The film was directed and co-written by Duncan Jones (Source Code). Jones seems to be giving both the humans and the orcs equal screen time, presenting the war as it is seen by both sides. The film is set for release on June 10, 2016. There is plenty of action and the style of the film is great. Take a look:
