Ralph Fiennes and Tilda Swinton star in the trailer for A Bigger Splash, a remake of the 1969 film La Piscine. This version of the film stars Tilda Swinton as a David Bowie-like global rock star named Marianne Lane who has had vocal surgery and must not speak or sing until she heals. She heads off to the Italian island of Pantelleria to recover with her partner Paul (Matthias Schoenaerts.

Their idyllic vacation is shattered when Marianne's former love and producer Harry (Ralph Fiennes) shows up with his daughter Penelope (Dakota Johnson) in tow. Harry is a force of nature who never takes no for an answer and his presence destroys any chance of peace and quiet. Passions and past sins lurk just below the surface in this drama and psychological thriller.

The character of Marianne was originally an actress with a great deal of dialogue. Hitfix reports that Tilda Swinton suggested to screenwriter David Kajganich that Marianne be a rock star who can't speak. She speaks very little in the film and the screenwriter notes that when she does speak it is painful and hurts her recovery, so the audience should pay close attention to what she chooses to voice.

The original film was set in the Cote D'Azure and Jane Birkin played the role of the seductive Penelope. The romantic quadrangle has some serious consequences which are teased in the trailer. Luca Guadagnino (I am Love) directed the film, which looks quite fascinating. Take a look:
