KPop Demon Hunters Tops Weekend Box Office

Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters: Sing-Along Event was the box office winner this weekend. It made at least $18 million in 1,700 theaters according to Box Office Mojo. The animated film from Sony Pictures Animation is the first box office win for Netflix.

Reuters reports that several songs from KPop Demon Hunters are popular on streaming services. The film is also the second most-watched English movie on Netflix after Red Notice.

Zach Cregger's Weapons finished just behind Demon Hunters with a $15.6 million take. It has a total gross of over $115 million after three weeks in theaters. KPop Demon Hunters took away its chance to win the box office for a third consecutive weekend. Disney’s Freakier Friday held third at $8.9 million and now has a total gross over $70 million.

Honey Don't from Focus Features was the second highest new arrival in theaters. It made about $3 million in 1,317 theaters.
