A Good Day to Die Hard Wins Weekend Box Office

The "Die Hard" franchise continues its box office success with a number one showing for A Good Day to Die Hard. This is the fifth entry in the series starring Bruce Willis as John McClane. Actor Jai Courtney plays his son Jack McClane.

A Good Day to Die Hard was followed by Identity Thief, which showed staying power by finishing second during its second weekend in theaters. The comedy made another $23.6 million to bring its box office total to over $70 million. Safe Haven opened in third and made a solid $21.4 million. The animated Escape From Planet Earth open in fourth place and made nearly $16 million. It was followed by Warm Bodies and Beautiful Creatures. Beautiful Creatures underperformed and made $7.58 million despite appearing in nearly 3,000 theaters. You can see the complete box office report here.
