Emma Watson and Dan Stevens Star in First Beauty and the Beast Trailer
Posted on November 16, 2016
Emma Watson stars as Belle and Dan Stevens stars as the Beast in the first trailer for Disney's live action feature film of Beauty and the Beast. The film has a stellar cast: Luke Evans is Gaston, Gugu Mbatha-Raw is Plumette, Ewan McGregor is Lumiere, Stanley Tucci is Cadenza, Emma Thompston is Mrs. Potts and Ian McKellan is Cogsworth.
The trailer opens with a shot of a dilapidated castle, with a family portrait with a scratch through the young prince's face. When Belle's father goes missing she sets out to explore the castle and gets quite a surprise. Not only does a Beast live there, much of the furnishings are alive -- and have plenty of opinions to share.
The cinematography is beautiful and Emma Watson really is the perfect Belle. We have no idea why they've made Dan Stevens sound like the Batman villain Bane, but hey -- he's a Beast and he is grumpy. I mean, he's already beastly -- does he have to have a Beastly voice? Still, Dan Stevens is a fantastic choice for the role. Perhaps he'll get more screen time as the Prince.
The film was directed by Bill Condon and hits theaters on March 17, 2017. It's going to be a monster hit. Take a look:
