Canceled Ghost Whisperer Might Find Home at ABC

In a shocking move, CBS has canceled Ghost Whisperer, which stars Jennifer Love Hewitt as Melinda Gordon, a woman who has the ability to see and communicate with ghosts. The show has run for five seasons and has great ratings -- it always wins its timeslot.

Jamie Kennedy, whose character can hear ghosts but not see them, tweeted that he was sad to hear the news about Ghost Whisperer's cancellation. He also says, "I don't think were ready to go into light jus yet. stay tu.." offers some hope that ABC will pick up the show.

I hear talks with ABC for The Ghost Whisperer have started. Ghost Whisperer would be attractive to ABC at the right price. Better still, it is co-owned by ABC whose studio developed it before selling it to CBS, which owns half of the show. The drama has an appealing young female star, Jennifer Love Hewitt, a plus for the female-skewing ABC, and it has been sold in syndication, which would help ABC's bottom line. Additionally, I hear there is a showrunner plan in place for next season, so Ghost is ready to go into production.

We certainly hope this happens. The show has finally gotten back on track after that horrifying plot twist. We like the addition of the Baby Whisperer, we never have to see Blond Jim anymore (it's like that annoying switching bodies thing never happened) and we like the whole "Ned as the keeper of the secret book" storyline.
