Charlize Theron and the $140,000 Kiss

Charlize Theron was helping with the charitable auction for organization OneXone Thursday night in San Francisco. When the bidding lagged at $47,000, Charlize decided to raise the stakes, offering a 7 second kiss.

She told the crowd that this was high-risk kissing, since the swine flu virus is going around. A man in the audience jumped the bid to $137,000, but a woman outbid him. She paid $140,000 and got her money's worth: Charlize kissed her for a full twenty seconds. The winner also got a 2010 South Africa trip - complete with World Cup tickets, a safari trip and a chance to meet Nelson Mandela.
