Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard Star in First Assassin's Creed Trailer

Michael Fassbender stars in the first full trailer for Assassin's Creed, which is based on the popular Ubisoft videogames. Fassbender plays Callum Lynch who we meet in the trailer. He awakens strapped to a hospital bed where is is met by Sophia Rikkin (Marion Cotillard). Sophia tells him, "At 6pm yesterday evening you were executed and pronounced dead. You no longer exist." This is not what he wants to hear.

He is taken to a high tech facility and asks her if this is a prison. She tells him that it is not a prison. She says that by using this new procedure, he will "see, hear and feel the memories of your ancestor who has been dead 500 years."

At that point his character is thrown into the Spanish Inquisition, where his ancestor Aguilar was part of the legendary group of Assassins who fight against the Templars, who want to control the world. The Assassins fight for good and support free will. We see some amazing action scenes and quite a bit of well-executed Parkour moves while Kanye West's "I Am God" plays in the background.

The film was written by Bill Collage and Adam Cooper. It was directed by Justin Kurzel (Macbeth), which also starred Fassbender and Cotillard. The supporting cast includes Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, Michael Kenneth Williams, Callum Turner, Brian Gleeson and Ariane Labed. The trailer is excellent and the talent is top notch.
