The Hunger Games Makes $155 Million During Opening Weekend

The Hunger Games is a monster hit. The movie made $155 million during its opening weekend in the U.S. afer building on its big midnight opening. This was the third biggest opening weekend of all time. You can see a list of the all time biggest opening weekend here.

Wrath of the Titans and Mirror, Mirror will be up against The Hunger Games for the blockbuster's second weekend in theaters.

21 Jump Street came in second this weekend. It added $21.3 million to its total ($71 million) during its second weekend in theaters. The Lorax continues to do well. It made another $13.1 million to bring its box office total to $177 million.
