Joe Manganiello Gets Frisky in Magic Mike XXL Trailer

Posted on May 7, 2015

The full trailer for Magic Mike XXL has been released by Warner Bros. Matthew McConaughey is not in the film, sadly, but luckily Jada Pinkett Smith is. She is the emcee for a club that features male exotic dancers. She's got a very different vibe than McConaughey's character, but she's got just as much charisma.

We love Jada's turn as Fish Mooney on Gotham, so it's fun to see her here owning a club, bossing everyone around. Three years after Mike bowed out of the stripper life at the top of his game, he and the remaining Kings of Tampa hit the road to Myrtle Beach to put on one last blow-out performance. Or something like that. We're not exactly sure.

But back to the boys. Channing Tatum returns as Magic Mike, the dancer who left the biz but returns for one last road trip. Matt Bomer returns as Ken. Joe Manganiello returns as Big Dick Richie. Gabriel Iglesias returns as Tobias and wrestling star Kevin Nash returns as Tarzan.

Alex Pettyfer is not returning. Reports say that on set he suffered from a terminal case of Diva-itis which led to Channing surgically excising him from the sequel. This time out we have some new faces: Michael Strahan, Donald Glover and Kevin Nash. Andie MacDowell, Amber Heard and Elizabeth Banks have also joined the cast.

The trailer says it doesn't want to show us all the best parts of the film, clearly implying that what's to come is going to be amazing. So what does the trailer show? Channing Tatum at the beach, looking pensive. Joe Mangiello getting up close and personal with a bottle of water at a 7-11. Channing doing a Flash Dance thing. And Jada telling the crowd that they will see if "there's still any magic in the Mike." Oh, and Andie McDowell appears to be having quite the bachelorette party.

It all looks like great fun. We just hope that Channing and Matt get even more screen time dancing than they did in the first film. They are, by far, the best dancers. Tarzan gave it his all, but let's face facts. There is a reason he was hidden by dark lighting and stuck on the sides in the dance numbers. As for Michael Strahan, we have no idea whether he can bust a move. But we're about to find out. Take a look:
