Mama Wins Weekend Box Office, Schwarzenegger's The Last Stand Bombs

The horror film Mama won the weekend box with a $28 million take. Mama was followed by Zero Dark Thirty, which made $17.6 million. Jessica Chastain stars in both the #1 and #2 films. Zero Dark Thirty was followed by Silver Linings Playbook and Gangster Squad. Broken City, an action revenge film starring Mark Wahlberg and Russell Crowe, opened in fifth and made $9 million.

Broken City was followed by A Haunted House, Django Unchained, Les Miserables and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The Last Stand, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, bombed and opened in 10th place. It made just $6.3 million despite appearing in 2,913 theaters.
