Nickelodeon to Launch New Preschool Literary Series Called Wallykazam

Nickelodeon will premiere a new preschool literary series, called Wallykazam!, on February 3. The series was created by Adam Peltzman, the creator of Bubble Guppies and The Backyardigans.

The animated show follows a troll named Wally and his pet dragon, Norville. The pair live in a forests with other mythical creatures. Wally has a magic stick that can make words come to life. Wally has to babysit an Ogre's pet in the season premiere.

Some of the celebrity guests slated for season one include Vanessa Bayer, Weird Al Yankovic, John O'Hurley, Kate Micucci and Alanna Ubach.

Teri Weiss, Executive Vice President, Nickelodeon Preschool, said in a statement, "Wallykazam! offers a new approach to literacy by weaving it into a comedy-driven story with funny characters and adventures that will keep preschoolers laughing and engaged. The series furthers Nickelodeon's commitment to producing high-quality, curriculum rich content that helps prepare young children for the important adventure of starting school."
