Joe Manganiello Convinces Pee-Wee Herman to Go On Vacation

Posted on February 17, 2016

Pee Wee Herman is back and better than ever in the trailer for his new movie Pee-Wee's Big Holiday. Pee Wee is super happy in his hometown where everyone loves him. Until one day he meets a mysterious stranger (Joe Manganiello) who comes into his diner and asks for a chocolate milk shake. He convinces Pee Wee that he needs to go on a vacation and see what lies outside his hometown.

He overpacks and sets out in his tiny red convertible. Right away he ends up being the reluctant getaway driver for some female bank robbers and it just gets crazier from there. At one point he meets a farmer who appears to have like 20 single daughters each of which wants Pee Wee to sit next to her at dinner. After that's settled, the father asks Pee-Wee to "say a few words." So, he complies with, "Encylopedia, pimple and...uh... hairball." Well, they are certainly words.

Paul Reubens looks exactly the same as he did twenty years ago, and there is a good reason for that. In an interview with The New York Times, he says they digitally fixed his face so he would look younger. He says he's 63 and that the Pee Wee character needs to look the same age. He joked that he could have saved them $2 million if he'd just had a facelift. Well, they did a fabulous job -- and so did Reubens.

John Lee (Broad City, Inside Amy Schumer) directed. Judd Apatow produced the film which debuts on Netflix on March 18th. Take a look:
