Production Begins on San Andreas Disaster Film Starring Dwayne Johnson

Warner Bros. has announced that principal photography will begin April 22 on San Andreas in Australia. The film about a massive California earthquake is being shot in Queensland, Australia and in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
The film stars Dwayne Johnson. The film involves a magnitude 9 earthquake in California on the San Andreas fault line. Johnson plays a search and helicopter pilot in the film. Johnson and his estranged wife (Carla Gugino) travel from L.A. to San Francisco in a search for their only daughter in the midst of the disaster.
San Andreas also stars Alexandra Daddario, Archie Panjabi, Hugo Johnstone-Burt and Art Parkinson. Carlton Cuse and Chad Hayes & Carey Hayes wrote the screenplay. Brad Petyon (Journey 2: The Mysterious Island) is the director. Producers include Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson. ichard Brener, Samuel J. Brown, Michael Disco, Rob Cowan and Bruce Berman are the executive producers.
The film is set for a Friday, June 5, 2015 release. Johnson tweeted this image of him working on his Helo rappelling techniques for the movie.
