Sharknado: The 4th Awakens to Premiere on July 31

Sharknado is returning to the Syfy channel for a 4th movie. The film is called Sharknado: The 4th Awakens. Syfy borrowed from the latest Star Wars film for the title and poster theme.

Ian Ziering is returning as the franchise shark-killing hero Fin Shepard. Tara Reid is also returning as April Wexler. Syfy is running a campaign on its Sharknado 4 page to determine whether April will live or die.

Sharknado 4 takes place five years after the events of Sharknado 3. There have been five years with no sharknados but that's about to change. Syfy says, "Fin, his family and the cosmos have been blissfully sharknado-free in the intervening years, but now sharks – and 'nados! - are being whipped up in places (and ways) that are completely unexpected..."

Some of the other stars in Sharknado 4 include Tommy Davidson, Cheryl Tiegs, Gary Busey, Cody Linley, Imani Hakim and Masiela Lusha. Syfy has also revealed some of the cameos in the fourth film. They include Cynthia Bailey (Real Housewives of Atlanta), Robert Herjavec (Shark Tank), Kym Johnson (Dancing with the Stars), T'Keyah Crystal Keymah (In Living Color), Gena Lee Nolin (Baywatch), Alexandra Paul (Baywatch), Duane Chapman (Dog the Bounty Hunter), Stacey Dash (Clueless), Vince Neil (Motley Crue) and Wayne Newton.
