Zac Efron Tops the Weekend Box Office with 17 Again

Zac Efron proves he can carry a movie: 17 Again topped the box office this past weekend, making $24,065,000. Studio heads were expecting less than that and are thrilled with the movie's performance. We saw it Friday and thought it was great fun. Matthew Perry, Zac, Thomas Lennon and Leslie Mann were all terrific.

In second place was Russell Crowe's State of Play, which took in $14,099,000. In third place was Monsters & Aliens which made $12,900,000, putting its cumulative take at $162,723,000. In fourth place was Hannah Montana, the Movie, which made another $12,666,000, for a cumulative total of $56,133,000.
