Zootopia Wins Weekend Box Office With $75 Million Opening

Zootopia easily topped the box office this weekend. The animated film made $75 making it the biggest opening for Disney Animation. The film has an A CinemaScore.

Zooptopia was followed by London Has Fallen starring Gerard Butler as Secret Service agent Mike Banning. The film opened with $21.6 million. It also has a good CinemaScore with an A-. London Has Fallen managed to stay just ahead of the hit film Deadpool, which continues to draw moviegoers into theaters. Deadpool added another $16.7 million during its fourth weekend in theaters to bring its total gross to $311 million.

Deadpool was followed by the comedy Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, which stars Tina Fey. It opened in fourth place and made $7.4 million. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot has a B CinemaScore.

Gods of Egypt which bombed last weekend continued its weak performance making just $5.2 million during its second weekend in theaters. It was followed by Risen, Kung Fu Panda 3, The Revenant and Eddie the Eagle.
