Kevin Bacon is a Corrupt Sheriff in Cop Car Trailer

Posted on May 30, 2015

Kevin Bacon is a very mean cop in the first trailer for Cop Car. Two boys find a cop car with the keys in the ignition and decide to take a joyride. Boy, did they ever steal the wrong cop's car. Kevin Bacon is a cop with a lot of secrets -- in his trunk and in his life.

Two ten year old boys are on the run, from who or what it's not clear. Travis (James Freedson-Jackson) and Harrison (Hays Wellford) walk across a field figuring out what to do next when they come across a patrol car with the keys in it. They dare each other to touch the car, then get inside it, then start it up. Eventually they decide to go on a joy ride. This is a terrible decision.

The car belongs to a corrupt sheriff (Kevin Bacon) who has a bound and gagged criminal (Shea Whigham) in the trunk. The sheriff wants his car and his captive back. The kids know that if he gets a hold of them, it's not going to end well. Camryn Manheim plays a woman who sees the boys in a cop car and tries to intervene.

The film was directed by writer-director Jon Watts (Clown). The edge of your seat thriller is sure to horrify parents and the boys break the speed limit, mishandle loaded weapons and generally put themselves in danger as much as possible.

The trailer is gripping and Bacon is quite menacing. Even his moustache screams he's a killer that shouldn't be trifled with. The film hits theaters on August 7,2015, and will be available on demand on August 14th. Take a look:
