Kevin Bacon: Kyra and I Were Swindled by Bernie Madoff

Posted on January 15, 2009

Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgewick were among the people swindled out of their life savings by con man Bernie Madoff, who is currently under house arrest for defrauding investors of over $50 billion in a Ponzi scheme. New York Magazine says Kevin and Kyra lost everything but their checking accounts and their real estate. Kevin also confirmed he was swindled to Life and Style magazine, but says he's doing his best to keep his head up and put it behind him.

Bacon told Life & Style at a Television Critics Association press event, "There are a lot of things I'm grateful for: my health, my family, my career, my family's health. We'll march on. We have to. There's nothing you can do about it. You can't change what happened. Things could be worse. You remember that, and you go on with your life."

Bacon also said, "I didn't see it coming."

Madoff swindled so many people, including friends, relatives and lots of celebrities. It's unlikely that any of them will ever see a dime of their money.

Update: Kevin Bacon went on CNN to talk to Piers Morgan about the Madoff scandal. He didn't want to get into the specific numbers but he says it was most of their retirement.
